The Goddess comes in many motherly forms.
The Great Goddess is the Mother of all things, the source of all that is. She has been worshiped from the beginning of time, and her worship continues on today by practitioners of earth-based religions. The Great Mother is the earth we stand on, the air we breathe, the fire we cook with, the waters of life that sustain us, and the spirit that lives inside and all around us. She is experienced through the flowers and trees, the moon and the ocean, the cycles of life and nature, and all living things. She can be found in the history, mythology, sacred texts, and folklore of every culture. From the earliest civilizations, she has been known by many names, including Ancient Mother, Pachamama, Cybele, Bhumi, Danu, and Gaia. We also know her as Mother Nature and Mother Earth.
Divine mothers can be individual representations of moms with divine or spiritual powers and presence. This can include famous goddess mothers like Isis and other sacred females who are seen holding children to represent that aspect of the sacred feminine.
These goddesses are discovered in every tradition and you can find them in holy art and museums. For example, Devi is the Sanskrit word for goddess. In the Hindu tradition, Devi is known by many names and faces. She manifests as many individual goddesses, each with unique powers and gifts, from slaying the ego to helping you find love. Lakshmi, Parvati, Saraswati, Durga, Gauri, and Kali are among her venerated forms. She is also known as the Great Devi and Ma, as well as the sacred and supreme mother of all that is. She is seen by many as a loving, divine parent who only wants the best for her children. She embraces us in her divinity and shows us that we also have her celestial spark within.
